FEST’ is a temporary autonomous zone.
A place where people question, hijack, play, shout and celebrate.
A place of friction, a space-time fault line, a playground for experimental artistic practices.
Every year, FEST’ infests a different city and weaves connections between artists, audiences and ways of creating, meeting and sharing.
This year Monty is handing over its keys to TransfoCollect (Brussels) and Jong Gewei (Gent) for a two-week takeover. Two collectives with diverse backgrounds, multiple aesthetics and experiences, driven by a joyfully prophetic energy.

Together, they will transform the Monty into a Resort Deluxe.
A theatrical and decadent tourist stay.
A satire on forms of power that mask their violence with smooth surfaces, promises of comfort and exclusivity.
Elite tourism, local gentrification, soft power, bloody riviera: paradisiacal illusions constantly hide hellish realities.
Enough.
Let us proclaim the end of these sad dreams and the advent of joyful nightmares.
Let us search together for the flaws in the system in order to experiment with other forms of beauty, exchange and experience.
By sharing more authentic stories, non-artificial practices and artisanal celebrations, we’ll take control again of our collective imagination.
