Monty is an arts centre focused on theatre, dance and performance, based in an old cinema.
We support, produce and present artistic work in dialogue with society.
For over 40 years, we have welcomed young artists to develop their artistic practices in our studios.
We invite audiences to experience a programme that gives a stage to emerging voices, explores diverse perspectives on how we live together, and shines a spotlight on things we too often take for granted.
Our mission
With the arts as exercises in living, arts centre Monty engages in dialogue with society.
Monty supports performing artists in developing their individual artistic voices and creating their performances.
Through a diverse programme of performance, Monty creates opportunities to encounter and exchange ideas with unheard and critical voices, unconventional stories and a wide range of perspectives.
Monty invites audiences, artists and itself to take nothing for granted. We take and give time and space for not knowing: to look together with an enquiring spirit and an open mind.
